Come together in Lloydminster on May 10th for a 5KM fun run/walk with all net proceeds to mental health projects in the community.
Join an all-inclusive party – runners, walkers, families – to celebrate the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle at the Synergy Credit Union Sunrise Run. From a starting line with a feel-good vibe to music on the course to a finish-line village that cheers for everyone completing their journey, this is an event that will create new memories.
A portion of every registration fee will go directly to mental health projects in the community via the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous financial support that will enable us to enhance mental health resources in our community and region,” said Stephanie Munro, CEO of the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation. “The funds raised from this event will directly impact the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges, and help us be proactive in addressing mental health issues early on. With this support, we are one step closer to fostering a healthier, more resilient community where everyone has access to the tools for emotional well-being and healing.
“My sincere gratitude goes out to all of our sponsors and to all those involved in making this event possible.”
According to recent statistics, mental health in Canada is three-times worse than before COVID-19. In the Lloydminster area, 1 in 3 people will experience a mental health addiction or concern.
Shining a spotlight on the importance of mental health is one of the key reasons why Synergy Credit Union agreed to a three-year commitment to be title sponsor of the 5KM fun run and walk.
“The Lloydminster Region Health Foundation is already making a real impact with its projects and initiatives within Project Sunrise,” said Synergy Credit Union Branch Manager Gord Thiel, who is referring to LRHF’s program that distributes funds to mental health programs.
“As more people are paying closer attention to their own mental health and well-being and with instances of personal challenges on the rise, these efforts will become increasingly critical in all of our communities.
“At Synergy Credit Union, we feel that being able to assist with the efforts of Project Sunrise through financial and volunteer support of the Synergy Credit Union Sunrise Run is an important way that we can continue to give back to the communities we serve. It is our honour to have been asked to become involved in such an important event.”
