The Bridge City is about to be home to an exciting new running event for a very worthy cause.

The Saskatoon Running Festival – powered by Craven Sport Services – debuts on April 12 & 13 with 5KM, 10KM and 10 Mile distance options with all net proceeds to Prairie Run Crew – the Indigenous not-for-profit community outreach program.

Designed to be the first major running event in Saskatchewan each spring, the Festival is a win-win for the running community.

For runners, the Festival provides:

A) Something to look forward to after the cold temperatures and snow in the winter months

B) An ideal prep race for those who are training for the Saskatchewan Marathon or half-marathon

C) An opportunity to help support Prairie Run Crew, which is a vital organization in the running community across Saskatchewan

Led by Tarrant Cross Child, Prairie Run Crew travels to isolated or remote First Nations in Saskatchewan to provide mental health education and help at-risk youth lead a healthier active lifestyle while learning about running. Proceeds from the Saskatoon Running Festival will help PRC deliver more of that programming in the province.

In addition to community outreach, PRC also supports seemingly countless running events, including timing elementary and high school competitions while providing start/finish line arches to many charity runs.

Registration will open on Friday, January 31 at www.321gorunning.ca with special early-bird pricing and plenty of swag options. Watch social media and this website for many more details starting Monday, January 27.
